This week, as work nears completion on two of the country\u2019s major highways, marking of the Friars Hill Road will continue and work will intensify on the Sir George Walter Highway.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Motorists are being advised, therefore, that a section of the Sir George Walter Highway to the Sir Sidney Walling Highway will be closed.<\/p>\n

However, \u201clocal access will be maintained for the duration of this closure and there will be business as usual,\u201d an official reassures.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Persons who operate businesses in that area and their customers, as well as residents accessing their homes, are asked to enter from the northern end of the closure, located at the junction of Dee\u2019s Service Station (Rubis).<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Further road works in Phase 2B will continue this week between Mi Casa Imports Ltd. and the Factory Road junction. The work, which began Sept. 21, will continue for two weeks until Oct. 3.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, road works will continue in Phase 3F on Friars Hill Road, between St. John\u2019s and Cross Streets. And, according to officials, \u201cthere are plans to undertake general earthworks and paving at the junction with YMCA.\u201d<\/p>

<\/div>\n

During this time, local access will be maintained and business owners, customers and residents should access their places from the northern end of the closure; that is, the Dickenson Bay Street junction.<\/p>\n

It was noted that line-marking work will continue in Phase 1A of the project between the junction at Cedar Grove to Sincere Drive, beginning today, Sept. 21, and running for one week.<\/p>

Motorists are being admonished to exercise extreme caution while work is being undertaken in these areas.<\/p>

\u201cRoad users are urged to be mindful that closures are put in place as a safety measure,\u201d officials note.<\/p>\n
