Soca king Machel Montano posted on Instagram that Swallow, birth name, Sir Rupert \u201cKing Swallow\u201d Philo,\u00a0 was a great influence on his career.<\/p>

He wrote: \u201cThe Legendary Antiguan Calypso King was a mentor to us growing up and a great influence on my career. As a teenager and bandleader of Pranasonic Expres,\u00a0\u00a0I remember his songs being a great part of our repertoire as they had heavy dominance in the music scene of Trinidad and Tobago. \u201cFire in the backseat,\u201d \u201cWine on something\u201d and of course \u201cThe man with the Pepper Sauce is Boss\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a friend and inspiration to us all, soft spoken and humble. In this picture we stood side by side singing \u201c Now is the time \u201c the Calypso for Africa project at Rawlston Recording studio in Brooklyn New York back in 1985 . I had the privilege of spending time with him in December 2019 at Charlie\u2019s Records along with Charlie where we sat and laughed about old times, he was just as humble and quiet . May he Rest In Peace and his legacy live on !\u00a0\"\ud83d\ude4f\"\"\ud83d\udd4a\"\u201c Don\u2019t stop this Party\u201d<\/p>
