The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment and the Department of the Environment today thanked the Government of Italy for their donation of two electric coaster buses which will be used to compliment the school bus fleet in Antigua.<\/p>

Health Minister, the Honourable Molwyn Joseph handed over the keys to Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Public Utilities, Civil Aviation and Energy, Edson Joseph during a brief handover ceremony at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium earlier today (August 25, 2020).<\/p>

The Department of Environment (DOE) within the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment partnered with the Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea of the Republic of Italy to procure two electric buses for use in the Antiguan School Bus Fleet.<\/p>\n

With a focus on shifting to electric mobility, the DOE aims to promote low emission public and private transportation systems in Antigua and Barbuda that are resilient to the projected impacts of climate change.<\/p>\n
