The Ministry of Agriculture presented plaques and certificates to winners of some of the competitions that were held for last year\u2019s PiAngo Fest which was held at Cades Bay Pineapple Agricultural Station.<\/p>

Chairperson of the Planning Committee, Ms. Marcelle Freeland hosted the brief presentation while Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Samantha Marshall, Permanent Secretary, Mr. Colin O\u2019Keiffe and National Specialist at IICA, Mr. Craig Thomas assisted in handing out the awards.<\/p>\n

Nakima Williams of Kima\u2019s Delectable won in the Sauce Category with her Mango Pineapple Hot Sauce while Leslie-Ann Colbourne of Akees Acres won second place with her Mango Pineapple Hot Sauce.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Kima\u2019s Delectable was a popular choice in the winner\u2019s circle for PiAngo Fest 2019 as she also took the top spot in the Drink, Juice and Wine category with her Mango, Cherry Carrot drink, second place in the Chutney Category with her Mango Chutney and Nakima also tied with Akees Acres as winners in the Cake, Pastry and Ice Cream category with her Mango Cheese Cake.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Akees Acres` Mango Coconut Rum and Raisin was the winning treat.<\/p>\n

Kima\u2019s Delectable was also the winner in the Jam, Jelly and Marmalade category with its Mango Passion Fruit Jam.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Antigua and Barbuda Network of Rural Women Producers\/ Processors (ANBNROP) won second place with its Mango Jam and Alvis Abbott collected the prize on behalf of the group.<\/p>\n

Trevor Isaac from \u2018Bait Up\u2019 won second place in the Drink, Juice and Wine category with his Mango Passion drink.<\/p>

Our youngest winner was four-year old Jahdaliah Ralph who won the Mango Selfie Competition.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Ms. Sharon Maynard of Jennings Primary School collected the Plaques on behalf of the winners in the Primary School Essay Competition for PiAngo Fest 2019.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The winner of the Grades 1-3 Category of the competition was Tyquan Phillip while the first runner up was Ralique Joseph, both from Jennings Primary.<\/p>\n

The winner in the Grades 4 \u2013 6 Category was Jemoy Lee of Jennings Primary while Jassiel Castillo of Nelvie N. Gore Primary School was the first runner up.<\/p>\n

During the presentation, a number of team members of the PiAngo Fest Planning Committee were presented with plaques for their hard work and commitment.<\/p>\n

All the winners expressed delight in their winnings and encouraged their counterparts and the general public to keep supporting local production, as it helps to contribute to food nutrition and security in Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n
