Rubis Caribbean recently partnered with the Friends of Mount St. John’s Medical Center (MSJMC) to assist with the purchase of much needed\u00a0M3 Vital Signs Monitors. The devices, which monitor life-signs including breathing rate and heart rate, are vital for monitoring babies,\u00a0adults and especially the elderly.<\/p>

In making the presentation, Raphaelene Jackson, Sales Manager North, RUBIS, spoke to the important collaboration between the MSJMC and\u00a0Rubis. \u00a0She said, \u201cRubis is pleased to be partnering with the Friends of MSJMC, which has a long-standing commitment to supporting our lone public\u00a0hospital. Similarly, Rubis is continuously aware of our role as corporate citizens and we are also committed to provide help where we can. We\u00a0are especially happy to assist in getting this lifesaving equipment, which is especially necessary as we face the realities of the COVID-19\u00a0pandemic.”<\/p>\n

Dwayna Derrick, President of Friends of MSJMC thanked Team Rubis and explained, \u201cWe are pleased to receive this generous donation of\u00a0US$5000 from Rubis West Indies Limited. which will assist in the purchasing of much needed M3 Vital Signs Monitors and stands for patient care at\u00a0MSJMC. \u00a0We would like to thank Rubis for coming forward, supporting our organisation and being a good corporate citizen to the people of\u00a0Antigua and Barbuda.\u201d<\/p>

The Friends of MSJMC is a not-for-profit organisation that provides assistance to the Mount St. John’s Medical Center. Each year the\u00a0organisation works with the hospital to identify an area of need. The organisation then hosts events to raise funds for the particular area or\u00a0pieces of equipment that are required by the hospital. In the past, the Friends of MSJMC has purchased vital healthcare equipment such as an EKG machine,\u00a0blood donor chairs, chemotherapy equipment, recliner and halter monitors, amongst others.<\/p>

In May 2020, Rubis also donated US$8000 in personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment which went to the\u00a0critical frontline workers. The PPE consisted of 2000 KN95 masks, 2000 surgical masks and 2000\u00a0surgical masks.<\/p>\n
