An officer based at St John\u2019s Fire Station has tested positive for Covid-19; as a result eight firefighters, who were in primary contact with the infected worker, are in quarantine.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

According to Fire Chief Elvis Weaver, the officer flew home to St Vincent last week where he was tested. He was one of six new cases recorded in St Vincent and the Grenadines on Sunday.<\/p>\n

His fellow firefighters were tested yesterday and should know their results within the next few days.<\/p>

The infected firefighter is said to be doing very well and has not apparently shown any symptoms.<\/p>

Weaver confirmed the department had sufficient additional officers \u201cready to respond and perform their duties effectively\u201d in the event of a major blaze.<\/p>\n
