Over $4,000 was raised for Friends of the Care Project in the inaugural Dockyard Challenge held on Sunday July 12th. Seventy-three participants and supporting spectators helped raise $4,189 EC at a difficult time for the charity. The funds will be used to enrich the lives of the differently abled children and young adults living at the Care Project, through education, specialist therapy and social interaction.<\/p>

Dockyard Challenge Bi-athalon, Galleon Beach to English Harbour, Middle Ground, Pigeon Beach, Carpenters Rock Trail, Nanton Point, Shirley Heights and back to Galleon July 12 2020<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The challenge consisted of: a \u00bc mile sea swim from Galleon Beach to Fort Berkeley, a 3 mile trail run to Pigeon Point Beach and back, a \u00bc mile return swim, and a 3 mile trail run up to Shirley Heights and down. The whole event took place in the photogenic surroundings of Nelson\u2019s Dockyard National Park, home of Antigua\u2019s UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n

A mix of 73 serious and casual athletes took part, including men, women and children from 5 to 61 years old. 21 individuals completed the whole course and 16 relay teams divided the four legs between them. The fastest times were:<\/p>
