The OECS Commission through its Competitive Business Unit (CBU) plans to bring hope to Member States and build solidarity with\u00a0frontline workers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic using the power of the region’s music. A\u00a0Free Virtual Concert featuring several top performers from across the OECS region will be live streamed on Saturday 13\u00a0June, from 7:30pm!<\/p>\n

The June 13th Virtual Concert which is dubbed\u201d\u00a0\u201cBuilding Hope through the Power of OECS Music\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0is packaged to bring an evening of entertainment and fun to viewers and listeners in OECS Member States and in other parts of the region and internationally.\u00a0 The entertainment package, which is especially planned to highlight the contribution of OECS musicians and entertainers during the period of this pandemic, promises to be highly entertaining and full of dynamic performances from a wide variety of artistes covering all the key genres of music performed in the OECS.<\/p>

The concert will feature among others, Dominica\u2019s internationally recognised singer and songwriter,\u00a0Michele Henderson<\/strong>; reggae singer and song writer and former West Indies cricketer,\u00a0Omari Banks<\/strong>\u00a0of Anguilla; Veteran zouk stars,\u00a0Orlane<\/strong>\u00a0from Martinique and\u00a0Christiane Odybol\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 formerly of Zouk Machine \u2013 from Guadeloupe; Guadeloupean ragga\/dancehall and zouk star\u00a0Admiral T<\/strong>; Dominica\u2019s reggae and dancehall artiste\u00a0Colton T<\/strong>; soca stars from St. Vincent and the Grenadines\u00a0Hance John<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Fireman Hooper<\/strong>\u00a0along with Grenadians\u00a0Lil\u2019 Natty and Thunda<\/strong>; Saint Lucian stars\u00a0Ricky T<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Shemmy J<\/strong>; Dominica\u2019s bouyon giant\u00a0Triple Kay Global<\/strong>; emerging Martinican singer-song writer\u00a0Stella Gonis<\/strong>; Soca Monarchs\u00a0Trevon Pollard<\/strong>\u00a0of Montserrat and\u00a0Dennis Menace XL Roberts<\/strong>\u00a0of Antigua and Barbuda; Antiguan soca queen\u00a0Claudette Peters<\/strong>; St. Kitts and Nevis reggae star\u00a0Dujon Caesar\u00a0<\/strong>along with emerging star\u00a0Charnelle Mc Master<\/strong>; and BVI Soca star\u00a0Martino Mark<\/strong>, who will make up the evening\u2019s line-up of performers.<\/p>\n

These artistes together with hosts,\u00a0Leroy \u201cWadix\u201d Charles<\/strong>\u00a0of Dominica;\u00a0Natalie Clarke<\/strong>\u00a0of Antigua and Barbuda; and\u00a0Saint Lucian\u00a0Hollywood Hp<\/strong>\u00a0will power the show which will be carried on social media platforms Facebook and Youtube.<\/p>

The OECS Virtual Concert is in recognition of the value and critical role of music, the creative industry and performing arts in bringing communities together and their ability to inspire in moments of crisis and disasters. It is expected that the event will serve not only to bring some measure of entertainment to viewers and listeners but also to give exposure to the work of OECS musicians and to bring them closer together in a period of collaboration and solidarity with the countries and peoples of the OECS region.<\/p>\n

The event is being produced by\u00a0Herric Horne<\/strong>\u00a0of Island Network of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and\u00a0Marva Williams<\/strong>\u00a0of the Dominica Festivals Committee with the support of a team from the OECS Commission.<\/p>
