Hundreds of voters have registered for the next general election in the last three months of 2017.<\/p>

Based on data provided by the Antigua & Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) 153 voters registered in October.<\/p>\n

In November that figured nearly tripled with 578 new\u00a0registratants.<\/p>

The number remained high in December when 454 Antiguans & Barbudans registered to vote.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

ABEC said it would provide the count on the number of people registered since the June 2014 general election at a later time.<\/p>\n

It is believed that talk of an early general election is what led to the apparent\u00a0spike in registration. ABEC also decentralised several registration stations making it easier for residents to register within their communities.<\/p>

In addition, all the main political parties have been urging their supporters to register early to vote.<\/p>\n
