Workers at the Agricultural Extension Division are working in a more comfortable space following the hand over of the newly refurbished building for the Peasant Development Office (PDO).<\/p>

Colin O\u2019Keiffe, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, said the refurbished building will allow \u201creliable facilitation of farmers\u2019 needs, dependable training for stakeholder development, improved communication, better information for informed decision making, useful upgrade of knowledge sharing, continuing advancement of results.<\/p>\n

Minister of Agriculture, Samantha Marshall told the workers to use the new facilities to assist farmers in growing the country\u2019s agriculture sector.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cAll eyes are on us now, we\u2019ve asked for better working conditions, we\u2019ve asked for tools, we\u2019ve gotten most of what we\u2019ve asked for. We have to continue with our commitment to perform\u201d, she said.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Workers were relocated from the building to the Ministry of Agriculture Headquarters since 2008 after complaining about deplorable conditions.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

In January of this year, they staged a sit-in complaining about lack of space to properly perform their duties adding they were cramped in one room at the Ministry.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The Ministry of Works subsequently began work to refurbish the PDO building.<\/p>\n

The Minister encouraged staff members to ‘lift their game’ as they work with renewed vigour to ensure a thriving agriculture industry.<\/p>

Minister Marshall was also taken on a brief tour of the facility.<\/p>
