Police Commissioner, Atlee Rodney said he expects the homicide investigation into Bruce Greenaway\u2019s death to conclude soon.<\/p>

\u201cI\u2019m pretty much satisfied that the level of work that has been done, it\u2019s not going to be a protracted time\u201d, Rodney said during an interview on state media Sunday night.<\/p>\n

The lifeless body of the Falmouth Resident was discovered at Indian Creek on April 13.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

An autopsy later revealed he had died of strangulation.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u00a0\u201cWhen we have a case of that magnitude and the seriousness of that case, as we have taken it, obviously we will be having discussions with the Director of Public Prosecutions as we move the process forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we\u2019ll continue to gather all the information and all the other additional information that we might need for a case of that magnitude and then we will continue our dialogue and hopefully in the new week we will have another meeting with him and then can be in a position to make a final determination\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Police Commissioner also reiterated a call for patience from members of the public and said investigators have been updating the victim\u2019s family on the status of the investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs recent as yesterday [Saturday] there was conversation between the investigators and one of the family members we have spoken to them and we are continuing to explain to them where we are and where next we plan to go \u201c, he said.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s unfortunate that there a number of persons, maybe even on social media, has been running with it an exercising some level of impatience and all we are asking for is that it is a serious investigation and we want to do it properly\u201d, he pleaded.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The Police Commissioner said \u201cit doesn\u2019t make sense to rush into an investigation or come to a conclusion and at the end of the day, you do not get that final justice that you want to get.<\/p>\n

\u201c It is one thing to get a temporary satisfaction and everybody\u2019s happy, well, we made an arrest and then at the end of the day, you do not have a proper investigation, you do not have a proper case to be presented if you are going down the criminal route\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us continue to work with the system that we have. If we are pursuing a criminal investigation, obviously we\u2019ll be having dialogue with the Director of Public Prosecutions because at the end of the day, we investigate and he prosecutes so we will have that level of dialogue and come to a conclusion in due time\u201d, Rodney added.<\/p>\n

The Antigua and Barbuda Defense Force had conducted a preliminary investigation into the matter after social media reports said the man was last seen in the company ABDF officers.<\/p>\n

The report from that investigation was not made public but has been handed over to police investigators.<\/p>\n
