The Central Board of Health today issued guidelines for the opening of bars. Among the measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 is that bars must refrain from serving of food.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Here are the other guidelines as provided by the CBH:<\/p>\n

Employees MUST NOT report to work if they have symptoms of COVID-19,
\nincluding fever, respiratory symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath or
\nloss of the sense of taste\/smell.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

If in doubt call the COVID Hotline at 462-6843
\nEmployees absent from work due to suspected COVID-19, MUST NOT return
\nto work unless cleared by a Medical Doctor.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Workers with a cough, runny nose, jaundice, diarrhea, vomiting, should not be
\npermitted at work.<\/p>\n

Facemask must be worn by all employees
\nFacemask must be worn by customers except when drinking
\nNo serving of food
\nEmployers can consider the use of a touchless infrared thermometer to check
\nthe temperature of their customers each day before they enter. Any person who
\nhas a temperature of 99\u00b0F and above, should not be allowed to return until
\nthey have no fever and no evidence of COVID-19 symptoms. *Follow guidelines
\non Taking Temperature<\/p>

Hand Hygiene
\n\uf0b7 All Employees MUST perform hand hygiene before entering and leaving
\nthe workplace. Hands must be washed under running water using liquid
\nsoap for a minimum of 20 seconds.
\n\uf0b7 A hand hygiene station must be placed at the entrance of the
\nestablishment for the customers. This can either be a hand washing sink
\nequip with liquid soap, running water or provide an alcohol based hand
\nsanitizer of 70%.
\n\uf0b7 Bartenders DO NOT have the option of replacing hand washing with
\nhand sanitizers. All Bartenders MUST frequently wash their hands under
\nrunning water using liquid soap for a minimum of 20 seconds.
\n\uf0b7 There MUST be a hand washing sink in the bar area. This sink MUST
\nNOT be used to wash glassware.

Lounge Area\/Modified Layout and Procedures
\n\uf0b7 Change bar layouts to ensure that all customers remain at least 6 feet
\napart (e.g., marking tables and chairs that are not for use).
\n\uf0b7 Encourage outdoor seating area, if not limit capacity indoors
\n\uf0b7 Bars should provide tables and chairs 6ft apart and offer table service
\n\uf0b7 Customers must remain at tables instead of congregating around the bar
\n\uf0b7 Seats and tables must be cleaned and disinfected after each customer
\n\uf0b7 Barrier must be provided at the bar counters using plexiglass
\n\uf0b7 Bar stools must be removed
\nSigns and Messages
\n\uf0b7 Post signs throughout the bar (at the entrance, hallways, in the
\nrestrooms) that promotes everyday protective measures such as
\npracticing physical distancing and proper hand hygiene.
\nCleaning and Disinfection
\n\uf0b7 Frequently clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are touched
\nregularly, using your standard cleaning products. Owners can refer to
\nCentral Board of Health Facebook Page for the list of approved
\ndisinfectants.
\n\uf0b7 Clean frequently touched surfaces such as (door handles,
\ncountertops\/bars, tables, chairs, cash register, receipt trays, work
\nstations, sink handles, sinks, toilet handles, toilet, etc)
\n\uf0b7 Wash, rinse and sanitize all utensils, glassware and store them in a safe
\narea
\n\uf0b7 Consider using disposable food service items (e,g, cups) If disposable
\nitems are not feasible or desirable, ensure that items are manually
\nwashing, rinsed and sanitized, or in a dish washer
\n\uf0b7 Employees must wash their hands after handling used food service items
\nand money.<\/p>

Guidelines for Bars<\/p>\n

Ventilation
\n\uf0b7 There must be adequate ventilation. Keep the doors and windows open
\nWater Systems
\n\uf0b7 There should be potable running water throughout the facility. Have a
\nbackup supply of water in the event the government supply is turned off
\nor no longer available.
\nPhysical Barriers and Guards
\n\uf0b7 Physical barriers, such as sneeze guards and partitions, can be installed
\nparticularly in areas where it is difficult for individuals to remain at least
\n6 feet apart. Barriers can be useful at the bar counter.
\nGames
\n\uf0b7 No dancing nor music- close contact activities
\n\uf0b7 No karaoke, dominoes, games night, etc
\n\uf0b7 Video arcade, ping pong, table tennis, parties or other interactive
\nactivities are not allowed<\/p>\n

Restrooms<\/p>\n

\uf0b7 All bars MUST have a functioning restroom facility for their customers.
\nThere must be pipe borne water and an emergency supply of water in the
\nevent the government supply is turned or no longer available.
\n\uf0b7 Clean and disinfect ALL restroom surfaces including floors, sinks,
\nfaucets toilet bowls and toilet handle. Mount toilet paper and paper
\ntowel. Place lined trash can by the door. Remove anything that does not
\nhave to be in the restrooms<\/p>\n
