Meteorologist Dale Destin is predicting a dry spell for Antigua and Barbuda with regard to meaningful rainfall over the next two months.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

He was unable to give an explanation as to what could be causing this period of low rainfall but supports his prediction with the weather data.<\/p>\n

Destin says the year began very well with good rainfall, but this tapered off at the end of March.<\/p>

He says the MET Office has recorded only about an inch of rainfall within a two-month period.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Destin says the outlook looks grim, since the Caribbean is expecting lower than normal rainfall for the next month and a half.<\/p>\n

Destin says it will take a considerable amount of rainfall to ease the current dry spell; but he adds that things will improve going past July.<\/p>

As a result of the current moderate drought conditions, many water catchments have dried up, including the country\u2019s main water source, Pots Work Dam.<\/p>\n
