Tests for COVID-19 have been carried out on some of the recent sudden death victims and all have come back negative, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Rhonda Sealey-Thomas has announced.<\/p>

\u201cWe have\u00a0 seen, it seems, a number of sudden deaths in Antigua and Barbuda over the last few months,\u201d Sealey-Thomas said during a news conference today.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have tested some of those persons and they have come back negative, and we recognize that this needs to be further investigated.\u201d<\/p>

Several men have died suddenly in Antigua in recent weeks.<\/p>

Sealey-Thomas said: \u201cBecause they are sudden deaths, they would be coroner\u2019s cases and the coroner would be investigating those deaths. But the Ministry of Health, we are also looking into the circumstances surrounding those death.<\/p>\n
