Observer media hosted an hour-long homegoing service on Friday to honor former Voice of the People host Carl Joseph who was laid to rest that same day.<\/p>

The media personality was pronounced dead at his home on March 28.<\/p>\n

He worked for Observer Radio in various capacities including as host, reporter and producer of various programmes.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Joseph was also well-known by the sporting fraternity in Antigua based on his involvement in swimming and other sports.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Among those to pay homage to Joseph was Observer\u2019s managing director Algernon \u2018Serpent\u2019 Watts who recalled being struck by Joseph\u2019s talent from the first time he heard him on radio as co-host of the Good Morning Jojo sports show.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know there\u2019s a phrase, the spirit tek you; from the very beginning my spirit took to Carl,\u201d he said.
\nColleague, Observer\u2019s Shermain Bique-Charles, remembered Joseph as a \u201cloveable person\u201d.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cCarl is someone, whether you meet him for two seconds or five years, he\u2019s someone who would have left a very good impression on your life. He\u2019s somebody that would always speak positive into your life,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cA friend to many\u201d were the words from co-worker Theresa Goodwin.
\n\u201cHe had such a good rapport with people; he was a versatile person, not just on air, but would also be writing for the newspaper and a radio story at the same
\ntime,\u201d she said.<\/p>

\u201cHe was so thoughtful, always willing, a happy-golucky person who would be
\nat work even when he was feeling ill. I called him my big giant.\u201d<\/p>

Carl coached at the Dolphin and Marlin swim clubs and was serving as the immediate past Vice-President of Open Water swimming.<\/p>\n

Joseph was also a founding Director of the Antigua and Barbuda Swimming Federation (ABSF) since its establishment on January 7, 2013, hence his designation as an honourary member of the ABSF executive.<\/p>\n

Initial reports suggested, Joseph who reportedly suffered from heart complications, may have died from a heart attack.<\/p>\n

However, no official cause of death has been publicly announced.<\/p>\n
