A fire truck was flipped on its side while turning a corner in Cedar Valley Gardens yesterday afternoon injuring two firefighters.<\/p>

The two firefighters riding in the back of the tender were rushed to the hospital by fellow officers, reports say, although the extent of their injuries was not disclosed.<\/p>\n

Reports say the driver appears to have lost control of the vehicle while attempting a turn, and it flipped onto its side, coming to rest against the fence of a neighbourhood resident.<\/p>

Correspondent George Wehner, a retired military officer, says he believes the weight of the water tank could have contributed to the accident. \u201cThe amount of water in the tank changes the center of gravity of the vehicle, owing to centrifugal force,\u201d he explains.<\/p>

It is not yet known whether the truck is among the tenders recently imported and commissioned by the Fire Department.<\/p>\n
