Antigua & Barbuda\u2019s Minister of Tourism Charles \u201cMax\u201d Fernandez, paid a courtesy visit to the newly renovated Sandals Grande Antigua which re-opened to guests last week.<\/p>

Joined by his Communications Officer Samoya Kirby and Ambassador Brian Gonsalves, Minister Fernandez was shown many of the enhancements including the new Redlane Salon, Bayside Restaurant, resurfaced tennis courts and saltwater intake system.<\/p>\n

Sandals Grande Antigua General Manager Gaurav Sindhi, who led the tour, showed the party a remodeled Redlane Fitness Centre and Salon which have been made more modern in their design. The Sandals tennis court, a favourite of guests and locals alike, has been resurfaced and met the approval of the minister.<\/p>

Minister Fernandez was also shown the new saltwater intake system which feeds Sandals\u2019 reverse osmosis plant and allows the hotel to provide consistent, potable water for its guests while lessening the burden on public water sources. When demand for water increases during high occupancies, the system is expected to provide at least 50 gallons per minute more water.<\/p>

Redlane Salon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The party ended the tour at the completely transformed Bayside Restaurant which now boasts a new air-conditioned buffet set-up, new furnishings and a glass, see-through perimeter fence.<\/p>\n

Sandals Grande Antigua closed in September for three months to undertake much needed maintenance and remodeling work. The 373-room resort opened up on Sunday, December 17th<\/sup> to excited guests.<\/p>
