The Antigua and Barbuda Customs and Excise Division is pleased to report that the Government has honoured its commitment to pay officers their overtime by January.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

A total of six months of overtime have been paid to the hard working men and women of the Customs Division over the past week, reducing significantly the government\u2019s debt to the officers who have been tirelessly working to ensure revenues are collected and that the country\u2019s borders are protected.<\/p>\n

Comptroller of Customs Mr. Raju Boddu has expressed profound appreciation to Minister of Finance, Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance the Hon. Lennox Weston, the cabinet and the entire team in the Ministry of Finance for making good on their promise.<\/p>

\u201cI would also like to say thank you to all the officers who displayed immeasurable patience and considerable sacrifice in continuing to work long hours to achieving yet another record breaking year,\u201d Boddu stated. \u201cWe are beyond grateful.\u201d<\/p>

Mr. Boddu was however quick to acknowledge that there is still more months to be cleared but assured of his commitment to remain diligent in his efforts to ensure that the payments continue.<\/p>\n
