Two officials of the Clinton Foundation, a non-profit group led by former US President Bill Clinton, met with Cabinet on Wednesday.<\/p>

According to Cabinet notes, the group is offering its expertise, free of cost, to help the Antigua and Barbuda plan its transition into using more renewable energy.<\/p>\n

“The group has visited several OECS countries and has established a track record of enviable achievements in the sub-region,” the notes read.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

“The Clinton Foundation has offered expertise to St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dominica and St Kitts and Nevis for the inclusion of geo-thermal energy in meeting their electricity demands.”<\/p>

In those countries, the Foundation has been able to price costs, to assess the technology, and to carry out other studies that help to improve the transition away from fossil fuels.<\/p>\n

The Clinton Foundation has been working with the Antigua Public Utilities Authority electricity management team and Cabinet has authorised deeper collaboration in an effort to lessen Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s dependence on fossil fuels.<\/p>
