NOTICE: Unauthorized Repackaging of Pesticides Products

0

In accordance with the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Act, No. 12 of 2008, and its Regulations, it is an unlawful practice to engage in the repacking of chemicals not in keeping with the provisions of Annex 4 of the Regulations.

The unauthorized repackaging of pesticides and toxic chemicals products is an offence and further is a potential hazard to human health and the environment. Also, the removal of such products from their original packaging circumvents the associated safety features of the packaging, which poses a potential health risk and may compromise the efficacy of the product.

Therefore, the PTCCB wishes to inform the general public that this practice is an offence, and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $25,000.00 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months, or any combination of both.

The general public is encouraged to report suspected incidences of unauthorized repackaging of pesticides products to the office of the Registrar of Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals at telephone #: (268) 462-9191/464-4448 or email [email protected].
