NOTICE: APUA makes changes to disconnection policy

2

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority would like to inform customers that our disconnection and reconnection process will no longer be scheduled by the previous sequenced zonal system but will be simultaneous. We would like to remind customers of our disconnection and reconnection policy which stipulates that accounts 30 days past due will be subject to our broadened monthly disconnection schedule.

This adjustment applies to all billed residential and commercial services offered by the Authority inclusive of Electricity and Water. Customers are urged to capitalize on the 10% discount of which they are entitled upon making timely payments on or before the due date. These practices will ensure customers save on their monthly bills.

We would like to encourage our customers to manage and monitor their accounts to ensure that all payments are kept up-to-date and the supplies of these services remain unbroken. Regrettably, disconnection of service is a consequence of delinquent accounts.

APUA craves the indulgence of customers to ensure that all account payments are current prior to this monthly exercise. The APUA disconnection/reconnection policy also stipulates that reconnections are carried out up to 2 (two) business days after payment.

  1. Them serious u guys are a monopoly do u get it …..you are the only water and light distributor we have no redress, time for this to change ,and the bill is so high and politicians not paying it so they dont give a shit about poor people

    • @Antigua/africa- I am in agreement with you on this one.. How can it be in a society with soo many poor people that you cant go into the only Electricity provider and make arrangement to pay your outstanding bills? How can it be okay to disconnect someone for less than the charges to reconnect? Isn’t that a form of extortion?I am a supporter of the sitting Government, but somebody must gone mad..
