Anguilla has launched the “Stop the Guns” campaign to address rising gun violence. The Governor, Government, and Royal Anguilla Police Force initiated this effort in response to increased gun-related crime.

A two-week amnesty period, from January 29 to February 11, 2024, allows citizens to voluntarily surrender unlawful firearms and ammunition. This initiative aims to eliminate these weapons from circulation without prosecution, as per the “Gun Amnesty Law” signed by the Governor.

During the amnesty, a secure collection box is available 24/7 at the Valley Police Station for confidential weapon and ammunition submissions. Post-amnesty, starting February 12, 2024, strict legal consequences will be imposed on those possessing illegal firearms or ammunition.
