A $1,000 fine was imposed on American visitor Shamane Alphonso Bayley-Richards, 31, after he attempted to bring 11 grams of cannabis into the country. Customs officers detected the controlled substance, valued at $110 EC, in his luggage upon arrival on October 28. In court, Bayley-Richards admitted to the offense, leading Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel to issue the penalty.
