Ambassador Boris Latour Resigns to Defend Integrity, Denounces “Malicious Conspiracy”
Ambassador Boris Latour has voluntarily resigned from his diplomatic post to clear his name amid allegations he categorically denies, describing them as part of a malicious campaign to undermine his reputation.
Appointed in 2023, Latour served as Antigua and Barbuda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador to France, and Permanent Representative to UNESCO in Paris and Vienna.
A statement issued on his behalf emphasizes that he was not dismissed but chose to step down to demonstrate his innocence.
Latour, described as an honorable individual, a highly successful entrepreneur, and a distinguished diplomat, is said to be the victim of a “deliberate and longstanding” effort to discredit him. The allegations, which have surfaced in the media, are firmly rejected as “fake news,” with the statement asserting that they are entirely baseless. It further claims that the accusations are part of a broader misinformation campaign motivated by malice.
“All legal avenues will be pursued to defend his rights and preserve his honor,” the statement declares, reinforcing Latour’s determination to counter what his representatives consider to be false claims.
The statement also stresses the fundamental principle of the presumption of innocence, arguing that attempts to tarnish reputations without verified facts should not go unpunished. It calls for ethical responsibility in reporting, urging caution in disseminating unverified information that could be harmful.
“The future will confirm that Mr. Latour bears no responsibility for these fallacious accusations,” the statement concludes.
FULL STATEMENT HERE:
The Ambassador has voluntarily resigned—he has not been dismissed—so that he may demonstrate his innocence. Mr. Latour is an honorable individual, a highly successful entrepreneur, and a distinguished diplomat, who is clearly the victim of a malicious conspiracy intended to undermine his reputation and integrity.
He categorically denies the spurious allegations set forth in the media. This misinformation campaign, motivated by malice, represents a deliberate and longstanding attempt to tarnish his name. These claims, entirely baseless and clearly aimed at discrediting him, are firmly rejected as “fake news.” All legal avenues will be pursued to defend his rights and preserve his honor.
Furthermore, the presumption of innocence must be maintained, and any concerted effort to sully a reputation should not go unpunished. The future will confirm that Mr. Latour bears no responsibility for these fallacious accusations. We also remind everyone that, from an ethical standpoint, it is important to moderate accusations and verify facts before disseminating potentially harmful information.

So what was he accused of then? All this ton of writing about nothing has wasted my eyelids to see what he was accused for! What is the allegations and from whom? Inquiring minds want to know?
I am asking the same questions. What is the ambassador allegedly accused of?
Who has ever accepted wrongdoing? You deny hoping that the corrupt court system will turn out in your favor.
I am fully convinced that another ambassador is behind efforts to smear the good name of Ambassador Latour. that other Ambassador has way more skeletons in their closet and is jealous of Ambassador Latour.
Ambassador rest assured that you have the full support of the people of Antigua and Barbuda
Thank you for the clarification. As opposed to the fake news media that reported he was “fired”
The third side of the story is the government side and i am looking forward to their statement
When will the double Sir buffoon resign? We heard his name calling on tapes a few years ago, and when the government changed nobody could find him.
After the corrupt cult was returned to office, she resurface and was rewarded.
An earlier commentor stated that another Anitgua Dipomat is jealous of Boris and on a mission to besmearch his good name. We need to pay very close attention to that.
I beleive Ambassador Boris over the other Ambassador any day. Just google the other ambassador and tell me if they are fit to hold a diplomatic rank of Antigua and Barbuda.
Time will truly tell indeed.
The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister said he was fired. Is he calling them liars? He ran up a mountain of unpaid bills, even after agreeing when he begged for the appointment, that he would be responsible for all expenses for the office in Geneva. Antigua tax payers will now have to pay for his excesses.
An entity that reported he was “fired”
It is interesting to note that this attack on Ambassador Boris is coming from within the diplomatic circles but a socalled ambassador who has more Skeleton in their closet than they wish to make public.
I guess he was abiding with the ignoble mantra of our Dear Exhaulted Indomitable Leader: to manifest the act of artful self-enrichment. Meanwhile, I am demanding that legislation be tabled, for annual forensic auditing; to give transparency and, accountability to the people; for the responsible disbursements of their partrimony. Thus, let the chips fall wherever it may.
