
Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been named Senior Sportsman of the Year 2025 at the Antigua and Barbuda National Sports Awards.
The award was presented by Daryll S. Matthew, minister of education, sports and creative industries, and recognizes excellence, resilience and outstanding national representation.
Joseph, regarded as one of the Caribbean’s leading fast bowlers, delivered a strong year on the international stage. He claimed 31 international wickets, including a five-wicket haul against Australia, and surpassed 200 career T20 wickets. He also made notable domestic contributions with both bat and ball.
Organizers said Joseph’s consistency and leadership continue to enhance his standing as a world-class cricketer and ambassador for Antigua and Barbuda.
The National Sports Awards celebrate the achievements of athletes, coaches and officials who have distinguished themselves in sport over the past year.
