Althea “Queen Althea” Williams to Represent Antigua and Barbuda at 2024 Regional Queen of Queens Competition
The Ministry of Education, Sports, and the Creative Industries is proud to announce that Althea “Queen Althea” Williams will represent Antigua and Barbuda at the 2024 Regional Queen of Queens Competition.
The event is scheduled for December 30, 2024, at 8:00 PM in Carnival City, Montserrat.
Queen Althea secured second place in the 2024 Calypso Monarch competition, distinguishing herself as the highest and only placing female artist in this year’s Antigua Carnival Calypso Monarch.
Her return to the calypso stage after a six-year hiatus has been met with widespread acclaim, particularly for her 2024 anthem, “Won’t Bow Down,” which has resonated deeply with audiences.
The Regional Queen of Queens Competition will feature top female calypsonians from across the Caribbean, including representatives from Trinidad & Tobago and Montserrat.
The Ministry extends its full support to Queen Althea and encourages all citizens to rally behind her as she showcases Antigua and Barbuda’s rich calypso heritage on the regional stage.

That’s my Queen and will always be my Wadadli Queen, but “Won’t Bow Down” will fail to get you the crown or even first place.
