All Saints Police Station Reopens Following Significant Renovations
The All Saints Police Station officially reopened its doors on Friday after undergoing extensive infrastructural improvements.
The reopening ceremony was attended by the Attorney General and Public Safety Minister, Sir Stedroy Benjamin, who emphasized the critical role the police station plays in the lives of law enforcement officers and the community.
The All Saints Police Station, having undergone refurbishment, welcomed back officers and citizens alike to a revamped and improved facility.
Sir Stedroy Benjamin expressed his satisfaction with the restoration efforts, recalling the conditions he had previously witnessed.
“I used to see the condition here, and I’m glad, Mr. Commissioner, that it’s back together again,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a functional and well-equipped police station.
During his address, the Attorney General urged the police force to continue serving and protecting the community effectively and efficiently.
“Let us make sure that we complement the police force to carry out the work of protecting the people of this nation,” he added, acknowledging the pivotal role of law enforcement in maintaining public safety.
The Police Commissioner outlined how the reopening of the station would enhance public safety and support the welfare of the community and surrounding areas. Placing the police station back in the heart of the village, he explained, makes a significant difference in terms of police presence and visibility.
“The number of persons in this general area having a police station close to them is very important,” he emphasized.
The All Saints Police Station has historically played a crucial role in policing Antigua and Barbuda due to the size of the area it serves.
The reopening marks the end of a temporary relocation to Clarks Hill for approximately two years.
The renovations included structural repairs and aesthetic changes to the building to meet modern policing demands.
Public Works played a key role in completing the renovation project, ensuring that the facility is now equipped to provide rapid responses to incidents and offer improved services to the community.
