Man Injured in Broad Daylight Shooting in Bendals

Police are investigating a daylight shooting in Bendals that left a man with a gunshot wound to the hand.

Thorne Brathwait of All Saints was driving along the Bendals public road around 1:13 p.m. on Tuesday when a white Honda Fit reportedly pulled alongside his vehicle. A male occupant allegedly opened fire, prompting Brathwait to flee on foot.

The gunman and at least one accomplice gave chase, firing multiple shots—one of which struck Brathwait in the palm.

Officers from the Special Services Unit, CID, and the Firearm and Explosives Response Unit are investigating.

  1. They trigger man better flee and hide cus we know who you are…..yall like to start what you cant handle 😡☠️ police better start stop and searches like they crazy..

  2. Please help me make sense out of this.
    You are driving your car.
Someone pulls up along side you.
If you do not know the person and the vehicle what do you do?
If you know what’s do you do?
    Let’s move on.
You cannot run faster than a vehicle nor a gunshot.
    Well, you can.
    Vehicles do not run.
    Gunshots do not run.
    Ok. Ok. Ok.
Gunshots are fired at you while you are driving in your car.
    What do you do?.
I mean what would a reasonable person do?.
    Not what Brathwaite would do.
We all know that he jumps out and runs.
    Idiot!!!
Did he expect to outrun gunshots?
He is so lucky that the shots injure him in his palm.
Do you readers get what I am trying to say?
    Sure, something happened.
However not what I am reading.
    That doesn’t make sense.
Even Usain Bolt, the day after he broke the world record would mash his gas and make his escape..
Not get out of the car and try to outrun two gun welding bandits.
    Tha na mek no sense.
I hope our police do not fall for that porous story!!!!!!!!

  3. I guess the gun penalties are not stiff enough tighten up on that deal with illegal fire arm holders like your dealing with a murder case minimum should be 60 years I bet any money guns will disappear

  4. Just another normal day in Crime City, Antigua, it will get wussa. The Head haffu change he guttersnipe mentality. Time fu Chet move to de head

  5. Lawlessness to the highest degree. The middle of the day and you are brave enough to pull up to another vehicle and discharge bullets just like that.
No description on outer wear was given, so I guess they weren’t wearing masks, now usually you pull up, quickly let off you bullets and speed off, in this case you had time and was brave enough to run after this guy pelting more bullets but foolishly didn’t finish the job, thus the episode continues.
Shit like this makes you think one of these gunman could easily pull up to the wrong vehicle and do the same thing to an innocent driver. No fear of the law, possible punishment, not even the big red gate and the sad thing is, it’s always an easy and clean getaway

  6. I am afraid for my life and my family members in this country. This economic powerhouse is down a path of destruction.

  7. Thanks for the update.. People are just not safe anywhere anymore. Little Tokeo I call Antigua and Barbuda

  8. Another shooting, another tragedy. This is a problem that requires urgent action from our government and law enforcement. We can’t continue to have this level of gun violence on our streets. The time for talking is over; we need to see concrete steps taken to get illegal guns out of our country and hold those who use them accountable. Our communities deserve better.

  9. Our authorities, more so the government does nothing to ensure guns are off the streets. And to more of my knowledge people are sending young people to do crime because they know that the penalty is like nothing

  10. Antigua is shifting to a totally different direction. It’s no longer a safe place to be! Times has passed and I don’t see it going back
