Eighteen-year-old Alana Lloyd, whose lifeless body was found by her mother at their Jennings New Extension home in October, will be laid to rest today.
The funeral service will take place at 2:30pm at the Ebenezer Methodist Church.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, where both parents work, will be closed today to allow staff to attend the funeral.
Antigua News Room (ANR) understands that an inquest and post mortem were completed listing the cause of death as strangulation.
On Tuesday, October 3, Lloyd was discovered lying on her bedroom floor with an electrical cord around her neck. Initially her ex-boyfriend was held for questioning but was later released.
Police say investigations into the matter are still ongoing.

Trying to push back tears just reading the headline of this story. I cannot even begin to imagine how the parents will get through this funeral putting their baby to rest. Her friends and loved ones will hopefully cherish the memories. I’m so sorry for your loss.
