AKINI WALKER CHARGED WITH UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FIREARM & AMMUNITION

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Tuesday, June 3, 2025

Police have arrested and charged 27-year-old Akini Walker of Cassada Gardens for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.

Around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 1, a team of police officers executed a search warrant at the residence of the accused. During the operation, officers discovered one (1) FN rifle and eighteen (18) rounds of 7.62 calibre ammunition. The firearm and ammunition were seized, and Walker was arrested at the scene and taken into police custody.

He has since been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

Walker is expected to appear before the court on Wednesday.

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda remains committed to removing illegal firearms from the streets and ensuring the continued safety and security of all citizens.

  1. Not advocating for this dude, but how the police even attain a search warrant in the first place, what’s the back story here?

    More context needed if you’re just gonna drop this kind of news on the public.

    And if news reporters are going to ask the police public relations officer questions, can they ask more pertinent questions please! We need more depth with these stories.. c’mon ANR.

  2. Comment *It must be really hard in Antigua to obtain a legal firearm. In the US anyone can walk in a store and buy a gun. In ANU man mussss go through a rigmaole

  3. For every one illegal firearm you get off the street, the streets are one family safer. Continue the good job
