A 20-year-old man, Ajahni Murray, has been remanded in prison after facing court on armed robbery and larceny charges.

Murray, from King Obstinate’s Drive, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Dexter Wason regarding two incidents.

The first charge is related to an armed robbery at Stop and Shop supermarket in Nut Grove on April 25, 2024, where Murray allegedly stole $500 while armed with a firearm. The second involves a July 7 incident on Christian Street in Grays Farm, where Murray is accused of stealing $2,000 in cash, a 9mm pistol with ammunition, jewelry, clothing, shoes, and a mobile phone from a local businessman.

Magistrate Wason has ordered Murray to remain in custody until his committal hearing on November 28, which will decide if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial in the High Court.
