Air Quality Index Based on Particulate Matters 2.5 (PM2.5) and 10 (PM10) Concentration
Air Quality Category: Moderate
Location: Antigua and Barbuda
Timing: Later today until Friday
Synopsis
The air quality is expected to fall to moderate levels due to the presence of particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) associated with the twelfth surge of Saharan Dust for 2024. This could elevate the threat of health issues, especially for unusually sensitive individuals, such as asthmatics, potentially causing limited health impacts.
Air Quality Index: 60 to 100
Alert Level: II
Sensitive Groups:
- People with respiratory or heart disease
- The elderly
- Children
Health Implications:
Air quality is generally acceptable; however, there may be moderate health concerns for a very small number of individuals who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.
Caution:
Active children and adults, and those with respiratory conditions, such as asthma, should limit prolonged outdoor exertion.
