Ninety-five percent of Antigua and Barbuda’s 425 Airbnb properties, offering 980 rooms, are locally owned, according to Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez.
The government has secured these accommodations, along with traditional large hotels, to ensure all SIDS conference attendees are well housed.
This initiative not only expands lodging options for visitors but also boosts the local economy by involving community members in the tourism sector.

What percent of these residents are bona fide nationals of Antigua and Barbuda? I’ll reserve my applause until later, if and when clarity is provided.

The majority of the AirBandB owners are not born locals.
There will never be an answer from Fernandez or any other government official.
Keep in mind the CIP investors are considered locals.
This is just another misleading headline to fool and appease and gaslight the real locals.
Let me understand this correctly: These commentators seems to be agitated that CIP and other Investors have been involved in the ABnB projects…and complaining that indigenous Antiguans are not been involved…so my question is: Is the Government suppose to give the locals properties to that they can be afforded the prospect of being in that ABnB space?
..cause I often hear your PM advocating for his locals to take up the offer of cheap Lands and the Entrepreneurial scheme that the antiguan government has established.
What is wrong with Antiguans. Why do they ALWAYS complain???
Not to worry, I will soon be locating there to take up some opportunities.
