Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin said that he will not be taking allegations made against the Chief Magistrate and several officers of the court lightly.

The AG said a letter to the editor published in the media was recently brought to his attention.

The letter makes several serious allegations against the senior judicial officer.

Benjamin said the matter will be thoroughly investigated.

The author or authors of the letter are unknown.

The AG explained that it is his duty to protect the judiciary against unfounded allegations.

  1. What if the allegations are not unfounded? Doubt you would do anything. It is not your duty to only protect the judiciary from unfounded allegations but also to root out unethical practices and corruption. Are you capable of doing this? Antigua is a small place in more ways than one.

  6. Physician, heal thyself.
Start with yourself first. Do you think people will take you serious, remembering the Linda Brann situation and the role you played and the price you did not pay?
Nobody wants to hear you. They will never believe you are truthful or honest about anything you say you will fix. Forever in the history of Antigua and Barbuda you will always be known by what we all knew you did. On your death bed, there will be no well done, good and honest servant. And before you die, your guilt will drown you. And you will need our forgiveness. But you won’t get it because too many of us would be hurt by what you did to this nation. It will be too late.
