The Attorney General of Antigua and Barbuda yesterday called for another referendum on the Caribbean Court of Justice.

I suggest instead of being obsessed with the privy council, he throw his considerable weight behind removing Elizabeth as head of state like Barbados and stop pledging allegiance to her heirs and successors.
Maybe you are not free but then again you speak for yourself.
Let’s go again. Our organization still stands.
Oh how I wished a referendum was needed before a government in this country could mandate persons to put something in their body that they may not wish to.
Who knows, maybe in time to come relevant amendments may be made to that law.
I really agree with you here. It would be far more important to many persons that whether or not the CCJ takes over.
Any calls to replace this old fart ?
This guy for a long time is case/classroom study of the meaning of complacency .

Beef get ready for the fight. lets hope you remain on the radio station this time around.
Never trust a politician who dyes his hair.
@Mr C…😆😆😆😇
They do nothing for the best interests of the people only for their personal interest
NINE YARDS,REMEMBER THE WORDS,TRUST IS A MUST.You,like many in that Administration could not and cannot be trusted. We the people are staying with that Privy Council until trust has return to our Judicial System inna Antigua and Barbuda.
Mr. Attorney General while I support the move to the CCJ, I am sure that you would recall that after the referendum failed the Prime Minister promised to establish a commission under the chairmanship of the eminent jurist Sir Denis Byron but quickly changed his mind. The commission was to look at issue of constitutional reform. To my mind, the latter is still of more significance than a referendum on the CCJ. You should try to convince your Prime Minister to do what he promised.
The Privy Council removes the risk that is so well known in the Caribbean and the CCJ: personal interest and bias in a case. I’m no fan of the Privy Council, but it is more independent, and less biased, than the CCJ. And as an aside, when are we going to get rid of this tired old fart of an AG?
Independence without our own independent Judiciary is pure sham. All Britain released was the political arms of the Legislature and the Executive, holding on to the Judiciary. The Queen protects her citizens, their rights, their economic establishments including those in the Caribbean. We are not her citizens when it challenges their rights.?
All the white former colonies accept British laws and its system, they do not need a fall-back. Anglophone Africa have their Traditional Court to fall back on when the British justice does not fit; former colonial India have their religions, language and caste system as their fall back from British law; whereas we in the Caribbean have no fall back position in anything because we were robbed of everything. When we fall back its only the Queen and her Court of Laws, insensitive to our lives and of our culture, and made to punish, jail and execute the enslaved African, their heirs and successors to this very day! The Privy Council is an impediment to the growth of Justice in the Caribbean.
Trust is a must for our people learning to love and trust themselves.
We are not at that stage yet when we trust our judiciary to dispense justice without favour. We will keep the Privy Counsel because they are far removed from some corrupt individuals in our justice system. How many times we have cases against corrupt politicians that can’t even get to court because some judge is willing to grant one injunction after another.
Don’t worry Cutie, when your time comes, we don’t want your university and law school buddies deciding your fate at the CCJ.
You should also advocate for then to remove Elizabeth as head of state like Barbados and take her picture when she was twenty something off our currency.
Makeda Mikael: The People of Antigua and Barbuda had 2 choices CCJ and or Privy Council. They voted to stay with the Privy Council. What the Queen had to do with that?
There is too much Corruption and Classism in our Caribbean Courts.Remember what Dame Janice Pereira had to say about the Politicians and their interferences into the Caribbean Court of Appeal.

I could not win in our Courts, but I am prepared to go test our own people and try them till they perfect themselves, rather than trust people whom I know enslaved and colonized me. That is where my lack of trust is and for reason!
