Adrian Williams Responds to Browne, Says “Defamation Is Not Leadership”
Adrian Williams has responded to remarks by Prime Minister Gaston Browne, saying leadership should be focused on solutions rather than personal attacks.
Williams’ statement comes after Browne, during a weekend radio appearance, revealed details of past conversations with the newly named United Progressive Party candidate.
Without directly addressing the substance of those claims, Williams emphasized what he described as the qualities of effective leadership.
“Leadership is not about tearing others down to gain attention,” Williams said. “It is about presenting real solutions, addressing the issues that matter, and earning the trust of the people through action.”
He added that political discourse should remain focused on delivery and vision.
“When the focus shifts to distraction instead of delivery, it reveals a lack of vision,” Williams said. “True leadership stands on results, not rhetoric.”
In a campaign message circulated publicly, Williams took a stronger stance, stating: “Slander is not strategy. Defamation is not leadership. Let policies speak. Let results lead.”
The comments mark his first public response since Browne indicated that he may disclose information about previous discussions between the two.
Browne has not yet released details of those conversations, but said during the broadcast that he would share what Williams told him at a later time.
Williams’ response suggests he is seeking to center his campaign on issues and governance, as political tensions rise ahead of the anticipated general election.

Gaston Browne is the kind of person who, once you oppose him, he turns on you—just like a bitter ex who airs all your dirty laundry. He openly claimed Adrian came begging for a job, asking for over $20,000 a month. And as soon as he feels slighted, he attacks—whether it’s mocking Pearl Quinn or calling himself Gassy Dread. He’s a petty figure, and Antigua deserves better. We have three weeks to choose a leader who prioritizes the well-being of our people, not petty squabbles. Let’s make Antigua great again.
Adrian is that the best you can do as a response “Defamation is not Leadership”. The questions to be answered is if you and the Prime Minister had discussions and what were some of the things discussed. It is as simple as that.
Better you stay Silent Adrian. Leadership is not defeating from bring clarity to people’s concerns.
1. Did you go to Chets house?
2. Did you speak to the PM and ask for things?
If not then Gaston lied…
But if yes then why?
Even if Adrian went looking for a job what’s wrong with that. He has the right to work in the country of his birth. Gaston just cannot escape the guttersniping he is not deserving of holding so high an office. Years ago I supported him when he was attempting to replace Lester. What an ERROR
Well, Shugy get competition on who is worse (l.o.l.).
Shugy like he talked too soon. Ah best Adrian had say nothing, as people for sure know now he a blue comrade, that go switch to ABLP when UPP lose.
All Adrian had to do was say the PM lie with his chest
