Adrian Richardson Announces Candidacy for ABLP Primary in St. Phillips South

Adrian Richardson has officially declared his candidacy for the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) primary in St. Phillips South, calling for unity and faith as he seeks to secure the party’s nomination.

In a statement, Richardson underscored his trust in God’s guidance, stating, “Perfection can only be established when we put our trust in God.” He urged constituents to focus on unity and a shared vision for progress, regardless of past challenges.

“I am standing firmly for unity and togetherness for the St. Phillips South Constituency, and I’m inviting everyone to stand with me in solidarity,” he said, appealing to party supporters and residents to rally behind his bid.

Richardson framed his candidacy as a call for leadership rooted in faith and service, expressing confidence in the constituency’s potential.

“I believe in God, I believe in you, and I believe that together we can help build this nation of Antigua and Barbuda.”

His announcement comes as the ABLP prepares for its internal selection process, with candidates vying to represent the party in the upcoming general election.

  2. “Ms. Barthley, 22, was shot in the neck on Dec. 16 at Mr. Bowen’s office. The police said Mr. Bowen’s gun went off during a scuffle. Ms. Barthley was put on life support but died Tuesday of a heart attack, hospital officials said.”

Emergency Medical Services were there attending to Ms. Barthley. There was blood on her neck. The detectives spoke with Bowen. He handed over to Sergeant Edwards a black PIETRO BERETTA .25 PISTOL which contained 8 rounds of ammunition. The police recovered a spent shell and other items from the scene of the incident. Bowen was detained.

  4. Bowen, a lawyer and accountant by profession, was charged for the murder of Tessa Barthley. Ms. Barthley was shot in her neck on 16 th December 2003 outside Bowen’s office at Nevis Street, St. John’s. She died on 23 rd December 2003.

They heard what sounded like a firecracker. Shortly thereafter, Constable Charles went towards his vehicle which was parked in the vicinity of Bowen’s office. He saw Bowen sitting on the steps of the building which housed his office. He saw Ms. Barthley lying on the ground not far from his motor car.
