Across the country, residents complain that APUA is not honouring its own water schedule

6

Outrage continues to mount from residents who are fed-up with the water situation.

In addition to not getting water on a regular basis, they complain that the daily schedule put out by the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) is not being followed.

A Piggotts resident says the timeline given is never right. According to the Sunday schedule, her village should have received water from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. However, she says, the water came on after 2 a.m. and was off by 11 a.m.

A Yorks woman says her water was scheduled to be on from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., but it never came on as stated.

Leader of the Opposition Jamale Pringle says residents in the All Saints East and St. Luke constituency are also fed up with the situation.

What is especially galling, he says,  is that the Baldwin Spencer Administration had installed water-storage tanks – and, so many years later, they are still not connected to the water-distribution system.

Pringle says his constituents are still struggling to understand why the Browne Administration has these storage tanks in place and has not commissioned them. -REAL NEWS

  1. APUA houses by far the most incompetent fleet of workers in the history of its existence moreover in the region of the Caribbean. APUA continue to prove its efficacy for improving its own entity is nothing but a uniform swap and rebrand. You give a regular man $100,000 and he knows what to do with it, how in the world APUA generates millions daily by bills and they never have no form of improvement to their own infrastructure. They come in like Government so much money a revenue and till cry. APUA NEVER DEY HONOR THE SCHEDULE. APUA DIG UP ROAD THEY DESTROY THE ROAD MORE ADDING MORE INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT COSTS TO BE HIGHER.

APUA HAS NO REGARD OR RESPECT TO ITS OWN AFFAIRS. It’s management sucks, the employees stay there once they get pay them nuh Care. U ever see APUA FIX PIPE???

  2. Yet when we say that APUA is sabotaging the system there is pushback!!!

APUA is to be held accountable for our water problems!!! We have RO plants all around the island!!! They never adhered to the schedule. Workmen put on the valves for water to come on AND OTHER TAKE THEM OFF!!!!

Come on Antiguans…….we love to use our phones. When you see an APUA water man putting on a value, snap pics and let social media see!!!

    P.s Just don’t harass them!

  3. Apua has a manager for over a decade, yet no improvements, the moral of the staff is low, because it’s a favoritism rule environment, kisses go by favour and the real hard workers don’t get proper renumeration, the people who climb the ladder are either favorites of some manager or the managers girlfriends. The whole entity needs reform, the staff afraid to speak up because they’re afraid of victimization. My sister works there and she’s forever B clerk, hard work does get you promoted. You gotta do a lot butt kissing and more

  4. They had so much to say about Clarvis Joseph when he was chairman yet they went in there and put an incompetent as Chairman and a notorious thief as a board member. APUA needs overhaul. Some serious investigation is needed, we’re still hearing of illegal connections by people in high position. Government come government go same old same old smh
