The event brought together approximately 200 young workers from across the country for a day of learning, networking, and empowerment.
ABWU Youth Arm President, Blair Rose, described the Congress as a pivotal moment for participants:
“It gave young workers the motivation to start thinking outside the box, identify new opportunities and determine the necessary steps to pursue them,” Rose said. “The Congress also allowed for networking and I do hope to see some collaborations among future entrepreneurs who attended our session,” Rose continued.

The 2025 Youth Congress, held under the theme “Adaptability to Ensure Sustainability: Encouraging Entrepreneurship in Youth”, featured three dynamic sessions and interactive discussions tailored to equip young workers with the skills and confidence to thrive in today’s changing world of work.
One participant was excited to share her feedback following the Congress. “It was really an eye-opening experience,” the young woman shared. Reflecting on Sasha-Gay Middleton’s presentation, she noted: “It doesn’t matter where you start: it’s where you’re going, and you are the determining factor.”
According to Rose, the Youth Arm and the Union are delighted to have inspired many young workers to look beyond traditional pathways and consider innovative approaches to personal and professional growth.
“The ABWU is committed to preparing the next generation of workers to be bold, creative, and collaborative,” Rose added.
The Union extends gratitude to all participants, facilitators, and partners who contributed to the event’s success and reaffirms its commitment to advancing opportunities for young workers across Antigua and Barbuda.
