The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) has confirmed four candidates for its upcoming primary election in St George, scheduled for 18 March.
Media personality Joel Rayne, sports administrator Michael Freeland, former senator Bakisha Francis-James, and public sector worker Salim Browne were approved at a special executive meeting. They outlined their vision and pledged to reclaim the seat for the ABLP.
Registered party members in good standing can vote, with a provisional voter list due by 14 March. Any objections must be resolved before the final list is released on 17 March. Voting takes place at Potters Primary School from 16:00 to 20:00.
The ABLP will also contest the Barbuda Council Elections on 25 March, led by former MP Arthur Nibbs. St George is currently held by United Progressive Party MP Algernon Serpent Watts, who unseated ABLP’s Dean Jonas.

School children say that “polling” will decide the labour party candidates for St. Phillip’s South and
St. Mary’s North.
We will see if the former banker comes through in St. Phillip’s South and we will see if the female in
St. Mary’s North is pushed aside, as it is said that she is not wanted by senior party members. Apparently, the dawg wants a male and a lawyer is supporting the lady. What a thing.
Michael Freeland about to get screwed over again
The feeling is that is should be Joel
If Dean Jonas had his way Francis will be elected
What ever happened to clement Antonio?
Is Mr Aziza Lake not interested
Hey Michael
granny said she still have the old fridge in she yard that you promised to pick up when you were busy showing a community spirit in your bid for selection several years ago. She said some big ratta in the fridge in the yard and she needs to get it out. Please don’t shoot the messenger.
I wish them all well as they are qualified and accomplished individuals in their own right. They also have youth in their side. ABLP is stronger today than ever before. Vibrance and dynamism are resonating throughout the ialand.
When is the Syndicate going to announce the names of the challengers and date of the Leadership Convention? Michael should contented and just watch from the sidelines because he has already been rewarded; he was allowed to keep the $100,000.
Freeland ass can take a hike, we don’t heed him. Money he made from a charity suddenly got stolen from a vehicle irresponsible and careless.
May the best candidate win!
Time to get rid of the SELFISH, “26 ACRES WITH 1 PUPAH TREE” self-proclaimed Rude Boy. The snake have plenty chat on Facebook and radio but QUIET LIKE A CHURCH MOUSE IN PARLIAMENT. SERPENT CANNOT DEBATE!!!!
He is a dismal FAILURE. St. George deserve better!!!!
