ABLP billboard, one of many around the island

The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) has intensified its campaign efforts ahead of the April 30 general election, with large billboards and party materials now visible across the country.

From main roads to community entrances, prominent red signs featuring Prime Minister Gaston Browne and party candidates have been erected, many carrying the party’s “Renaissance” message.

Banners, flags and other promotional items have also been widely distributed, contributing to a heightened political atmosphere.

Several constituencies appear heavily branded in ABLP colours, reflecting what observers describe as a well-organised and well-funded campaign.

With both major parties stepping up their outreach, the visibility of election activity continues to grow, though the ABLP’s early and expansive presence suggests a determined push for re-election.

  1. Really find this Billboard interesting. The amount of people with the Christian name JUDAS and they look so comfortable among the Gastonites, there was no room for the true Labourites. WHAT A SHAME!

  2. @Visionary. Another stupid assumption from a stupid person. Have you ever heard of campaign donations by generous supporters to be used for advertising, media, etc? Even your backward group of misfits masquerading as the opposition party ask for and receive donations to use anyway they see fit.

I know you have a small island ignorance and an even smaller brain but this is how politics and election campaigns work AROUND THE WORLD you fucking idiot.

  3. It is true that billboards can’t vote, but most people who study political science do agree that billboards does play a role in how people vote.

It’s no difference from business places that uses billboards to promote their businesses. They do so to bring awareness and increase the visibility and profitability of their business.

Another aspect about billboards is that it shows the electorate how organized the respective parties are. In this case it clearly shows that the ABLP is more organized and have more financial resources than the UPP. This could influence how people vote.

  4. The billboard is FAKE NEWS.. I already no the real news .. BTW WHO SIGNED FOR THE CARS? What happened to the ROADS? IM PAYING FOR LICENSING MY OLD JEEP.. NOW 2 crookS NAMED Benjamin, and others … billboards work best in a big country, we see these people on a regular basis at supermarket schools, etc… THIS IS AN ATTEMPT TO USE REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY ON PEOPLE .. but gas-Ton .. .. your time is up .. the business people say so ..

  5. Breaking news: Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán concedes defeat in a European electoral earthquake. GASTON!!! YOU NEXT!!!

  6. I wish the UPP would a knock out Gaston with a heart attack surprise that Mr Lovell been posited as the prime minister in waiting and Pringle maintain party leader position, the business community would have been overjoyed if Harold Lovell was put forward at this moment as the person to be prime minister, UPP would surpass foul mouthed dirty speaking boasting Gaston.

  7. Labour party doesn’t even have a contester in this election…The strongest UPP ever was in an upcoming election was 2004 when they gave ALP a whopping then after just 5 years they nearly lost 2009 and got an ass whopping in 2014…ABLP been holding it down ever since while losing a seat here and there but this time UPP gonna get a real real real ass whopping no if buts or maybe…

  8. It is so important for a nation to have a healthy, strong, sensible opposition party… I have been waiting and asking myself, for a few years now, when is it that our nation is going to produce such men and women?

In the meantime, GOOD JOB, MR. PRIME MINISTER!!
