ABLP candidate for All Saints West Anthony Smith Jr. has publicly rejected allegations linking him to the removal of campaign posters, describing the claims as false and politically motivated.

In a statement shared on social media, Smith said he does not support acts of vandalism and would not encourage such behaviour.

“I think it’s fair to say that everyone agrees that acts of tearing down posters should not occur. I certainly don’t support this behavior and would never encourage anyone to participate in it,” he said.

Smith also pushed back against accusations reportedly made by opposition figure Harold Lovell, urging him to stop what he described as misleading claims.

“However, Harold Lovell should stop making false accusations in an attempt to seek sympathy,” Smith stated.

Addressing reports that he had instructed others to remove posters, Smith dismissed the allegation outright. “In fact, I disregard the reports that you gave the order to tear them down because my focus is on delivering tangible results for the people of All Saints West,” he said.

The ABLP candidate said his campaign remains centered on development priorities in the constituency, including infrastructure and social services.

“My emphasis is on empowering our people — not on the lies and petty politics you’re trying to provoke,” he added.

Smith listed key areas of focus as roads, drains, potable water, healthcare, education and recreational facilities.

The exchange comes as campaigning intensifies ahead of the April 30 general election, with political tensions rising across several constituencies.
