The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) has issued guidelines for voters ahead of the St Philip North by-election on 16 March 2026.
Polling stations will open at 06:00 and close at 18:00. Voters are being urged to arrive with their voter identification cards and follow the instructions of presiding officers.
Electors are reminded to mark their ballot for only one candidate and to check the party symbols carefully before casting their vote. Anyone unsure about the process is encouraged to ask election officials for assistance.
ABEC said mobile phones and smart watches will be collected on entry and will not be allowed in the voting area.
Voters are also prohibited from wearing party colours, and election paraphernalia is not permitted within 100 yards of polling stations.
The commission said the measures are intended to ensure the by-election is conducted in a transparent and orderly manner, and encouraged residents of St Philip North to participate in the vote.

That election is going to be one jam session. When labour realize they lose mi wan see fi happen
I like the openness and transparency of the ABEC team under the tutelage of Mr Hughes. He’s clearly explained ABEC’s roles in ensuring that votes are cast in an honest and transparent manner.
That’s all the eyes and ears of the country can ask
Win or lose they are trying their utmost to ensure everything is above board.
My only bugbear is that ideally this government should not have gone ahead with an immigration amnesty before the St Phillip’s North by-election.
It comes over as morally wrong and reprehensible.
