The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) is actively preparing for an upcoming by-election in St. Mary’s South, triggered by the resignation of United Progressive Party’s MP Kelvin Simon.
To support the readiness, the government has approved over $100,000.
Incoming Supervisor of Elections, Ian Hughes, confirmed the receipt of funds and ABEC’s progression.
Although the voting date remains undisclosed, ABEC continues its arrangements.
The by-election will adhere to general election rules, but only eligible St. Mary’s South voters will participate.
