Dear Commissioner
First, I would like to take this opportunity to publically congratulate you for your recent elevation to the rank of Commissioner of the Royal Police Force of Antigua & Barbuda.
I think many residents including myself accept it, as a welcoming decision.
Now, with that being said, I will agree that your occupancy in the new position is very recent, hence it would be too early & unfair to cast judgement on your performances so far.
However, a promise was made that you will have monthly press briefings going forward, so that the publìc will be informed and brought up to date with the security affairs of the country. To date, the public has not seen such promise fulfilled.
As the new boss, it should not be business as usual. The public is expecting to see a new police force in operation under your tenure. We are expecting to feel a greater presence of police officers around the clock, within the communities.
Police stations also need to be kept opened around the clock. The residents need to feel safe and have that assurance that the police can be called upon at any time.
Police patrolling in vehicles within the villages should increase in the night and patrolling on feet in the day especially in the ” hot areas ” need to be stepped up also.
There is no doubt our country is a gem in the Caribbean. We cannot allow the criminals to dictate and control the state of affairs.
Presently, residents are feeling imprisoned in their homes. Antigua was never like that. The glory days of freedom & leisure during the day & night, need to return.
Therefore Mr. Commissioner, I do hope that with the change of guard at the top, it will not be similar to placing new wine in an old bottle.

How long it takes to get a letter from the commissioner for a lost passport from since last year it’s been 6 months cannot getca word please help us .
Agree we need to feel safe in our beloved 268 and we want to see less talk and more actions from the police.
Be proactive & not reactive.

The final and intimate decision is the Prime Minister.
Effectivly the choice is The Prime Minister’s and not come Commission.
The PM gets the person who runs a police department to his wishes and political fortunes.
The crime thing is not too high in the list right now; Barbuda is.

I am in total agreement, he said that he would do monthly press briefing, if he doesn’t follow through on that then he can go about his business as far as I am concerned. He said that we will see more police presence on our streets and in our communities not seeing any improvement. I young girl is missing for an entire week, we are not hearing anything. Even if she is a run away she is under age and needs the protection of the state. Since the arrest of the young woman that killed Chantel Crump we have not heard anything else from him. So where is the old man this girl was living with. The public wants to know if he was released from police custody and have left Antigua. He is a sea man and could have slipped out easily.
The answers will determine if you are a puppet or a commissioner of police we the citizens can depend upon for our safety. Sir if after all these years you have served the police force and you are not allowed to do your job, resign and keep your integrity.
For that person with the lost passport. Lost passports are not replace willy Nilly. You make a report of your lost passport to the police. The police have to conduct an investigation to find out what become of that passport. When the investigation is completed, then they will issue you with a letter stating that the passport was indeed stolen . Then you take that letter to the passport office to get a new one. Our close neighbor Dominica, when a citizen lost their passport, the police will conduct their investigation same way and when that is completed, the new passport will cost you $500.EC. From the time that new Law was implemented, nobody lost their passport again.

Police commissioner what is going on with the young girl- a minor, that has been missing for over a week? When was it reported to the All Saints Police. Is it another case of abduction? Is in a case of sexual abuse or carnal rape – having sex with a child.
She is still a child and the police must leave no stones unturned to bring her to safety.
