  1. More of that famous Antiguan maths… trying so hard to get off the US watch list. The numbers seem to always balance out with new/recovered. Do they think the people are that stupid?

    • I think it is you with the problem with maths. There were 82 new cases and 48 recoveries which is a net increase in active cases of 34. How you can say that “balances out” I don’t know. There will always be recoveries as persons with active infections then test negative and the recoveries have to be reported. Stop the nonsense about the numbers being manipulated or falsified. It seems you just take any opportunity to undermine confidence. Give it a rest

    • Positivity rate analysis is only meaningful when there is widespread testing being done on the general population. PCR tests are only being done on symptomatic patients and those with confirmed exposure. As such the positivity rate is bound to be high and is not necessarily indicative of the infection rate in the community

      • When has there been widespread testing of the general population in Antigua? Probably never. And yet the positivity rate is the highest I’ve seen.

Yes, the positivity rate should be approached with some caution. But the idea that it doesn’t tell us anything important is untenable.
