(Dashboard Update for February 12, 2021)
The most recent reports received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Mount St. John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC) and the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) have revealed thirty-eight (38) new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Thursday 11th February 2021.
Subsequent to the publication of the dashboard for Wednesday 10th February 2021 with the cut off time of 6pm, eighty-one (81) additional samples were processed by MSJMC increasing the pending results from one hundred and seventy-three (173) at CARPHA to two hundred and fifty-four (254) in total.
Of the eighty-one (81) samples processed by MSJMC, sixty-eight (68) were negative and thirteen (13) positive while of the one hundred and seventy-three (173) processed by CARPHA, one hundred and forty-six (146) were negative and twenty-seven (27) positive; two (2) of which were repeat tests.
The thirty-eight (38) cases are non-imported. Investigations have begun and contact tracing and testing are ongoing.
The eighty-one (81) additional samples are reflected in the ‘total samples taken’ and ‘total persons tested’ columns of the dashboard.
Two (2) recoveries have been recorded bringing the total to one hundred and ninety-nine (199)
Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is four hundred and nineteen (419); which is inclusive of two hundred and eleven (211) active cases.
Meanwhile, seventy-six (76) samples are pending.
The dashboard has been updated to reflect these changes.

This dashboard is blowing up,to say the least.Why so many cases daily.What is going on.The truth cannot be hidden any more.
There have been a lot for a while now.
Remember the CDC very high risk rating?
It was accurate.
They are magnitudes of cases that will never make the official count because those people will never get tested.
The official count only reveals the small tip. The rest of the iceberg is hidden underwater but those cases are growing and spreading every day.

The time has arrived. We now have more active cases than recovered, and this is not a once off spike again like the DR repatriation.
This is happening long time ago there are a lot hidden cases since the beginning in Antigua just to have the country open allowing tourist all over the wold to come here, last year June one flight came from Dominican Republic retuning locals and citizens and after no more flights allow to bring people again cuz some people have Covid-19 in that flight (6 persons to be clear) the voice was sprung as gunpowder that the Dominican imported the virus, the thing that intrigues me most is because they don’t do the same to other people that imported the virus as well if they are local or visitors

The imported category is artificially low because tourists are not being tested.
But tourists are still importing disease and spreading it around the island.
Antigua is a relatively isolated island. All cases of COVID can be traced to an outside source.

The tourists (and anyone else) who get a positive rapid test aren’t counted in the official numbers.
Once again, that’s why the “imported” category looks low but the truth is tourists have been and continue to spread disease on the island.

The cases has risen just a few weeks before the vaccine arrives people might be rushing for the vaccine soon. When they say peace and safety it could be destruction
Antigua. We’re in trouble! Take all the precautions that you can. This is a surge and we have to be vigilant and control the spread. The government does not have a proactive plan. They just have a response.
To the government. Shut down the import of people. citizens, tourist and all non essential individuals. Close VCBIA to commercial flights, close English Harbor to leisure yachts and only open Deepwater to food and medical supplies.
Antigua is an island. Isolate it Mr. Prime Minister and Mr. Minister of Health. PLEASE!
