THREE IN CUSTODY FOR UNLAWFUL CULTIVATION OF CANNABIS

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Thursday, May 1, 2025

Three people are currently being questioned by the police regarding the unlawful cultivation of cannabis.

On Wednesday, April 30, several police officers conducted a search operation in Pares, where they seized a significant quantity of cannabis plants growing on a property.


Two residents of Pares and one from Willikies were present on the property at the time and were subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

The police also confiscated several other items believed to be connected to the illegal operation.
Further investigations into the matter are ongoing.

The Police Administration remains committed to enforcing the laws of Antigua and Barbuda and urges members of the public to report any suspicious or illegal activity by contacting the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or by calling the anonymous Crimestoppers Hotline at 800-TIPS (8477).

  1. Was it alleged that the missing alleged Trinidadian boy was working on a cannabis farm in that District ? The Police are working good job. If at all the alleged missing boy was working on a Marihuana farm in that District, isn’t it reasonable to think that all Marihuana farm in that area will be searched ?.     they need to do patrols in civilian clothes around town and nearby Greenbay to see school children in uniform a smoke to mad bush in public and near corner shops, this is outrageous and totally out of control. You cant even breathe properly these days in ANU, someone with a blasted spliff in dem mouth, is like a dem a help with the fogging situation and dem be ahazard to people with respiratory problem too.
    PM need to revoke this stupid decision on weed. The people killing off dem selves and nuff turning crack head and gosts on the streets and a menace to society.

  4. Cultivating marijuana in Antigua is a waste of time. With people constantly gone missing in Antigua which requires searching groups, these illegal cultivation will come upon. You’re required to plant four marijuana plants in your yard, why not do as the law stated.
