Lower Fort Road Community Commends Removal of Houses of Concern

St.  John’s Antigua.  The Lower Fort Road and Adjacent Areas Community Group (LFAC) wishes to inform the public that on Saturday 8th July, residents observed that two movable houses which had been placed on the main road leading to Fort James, had been moved.

The houses had alarmed residents over their potential to threaten community health and lessen property values.

LFAC, on behalf of the residents of Lower Fort Road and adjacent communities, wishes to extend its thanks to those responsible for removing the houses, and look forward to the opportunity to meet with community stakeholders, including the government, to not only address other outstanding matters of concern, but to also learn of the authorities plans for the area.

In the meantime, the group and community members continue their efforts to implement initiatives for the upliftment of their community.  This includes establishing a Neighbourhood Watch, to boost security in the face of increasing break-ins and robberies.
