16yr Old Charged with Murder

The police have arrested and charged a 16 year-old youth in connection with the alleged murder of Roudi Shamly.

The Upper Fort Road accused is expected in court sometime tomorrow, Thursday for his first appearance.

The Police Administration is thanking the general public for the support offered to the police during the investigation.

The police are further encouraing the public to continue supporting their efforts in the process of solving other outstanding matters of crime.

  7. I hope the DPP takes over the case, because the police are known to always drop the ball at some time during the trial.
    I wonder who his lawyer will be. Wendal Robinson? He seems to take pleasure in showing up his former colleagues.

      • Mr. Wendal Robinson is the best thing that happened to the police. Since he has been on the inside, he is now showing up their weaknesses. They now need to up their game or lose face every time in court. That is why my comment is that the DPP takes over the case. They are more thorough than the police.

  9. Women are the backbone of many societies, so now go out there and find the young men who rape that woman with her daughter helpless in broad daylight. You cannot have this kind of crime go unsolved with so much evidence left behind. DNA, eye witnesses, so go and solve this crime, otherwise there will be further degregation to the fragile society of Antigua.

  15. I know that we all have to die at some point. People work hard and pray to God to help us have a healthy ending. Yet these young men are now leaving me to consider If to move away from my country. It’s like life is uncertain and you wake up today and these criminals are determining our faith. Jamaica, St.Kitts , St.Lucia and Trinidad are on fire – let’s wet ours .
    Heard about a young man picked up a vechicle puncture on Jonás road a few morning ago. Two guys came out of a car pretending to help him . They asked if he had a Jack. Then the conversation switched- he was asked to turn over his belongings. They went into his car and ransacked it. They gave him a good beating and left him in shock . Marks are all over his body. This took place high morning. Antigua is changing for the worst over night. The selfish politicians are all protected by police, soldiers and Big dogs in well fenced mansions .

  16. This is why we need real investigative journalist. This news medium said he was 18. Now nitwits are believing that there’s some foul play at hand because they have now discovered the murderer is actually 16. A child.
    Many reports written by “journalist” are inaccurate and misleading. Yet many take it for a fact. I wish the police would be more vocal and address the public so that there is no miscommunication.
    Things in Antigua need to change quickly. The world is changing yet we remain stuck and behind the times.

  18. I only wish the parents could stand trial also, for having raised such a monster of a child. They should still carry parental responsibility for a 16-year-old. And there should be laws that when a parent cannot control a child that they take it to court to ask the state to take over control of the child. We can work out the intricacies of this in a public forum, because I can see many parents running to court wanting to avoid their responsibilities for children they cannot control.
    But I cannot understand the fairness to society that many of us take parental responsibilities very seriously and raise proper citizens, while others think it is ok to just breed them and leave them to find their own way in life. Afterall we are not of the animal kingdom. That is why we have so many stray dogs in this country. It seems we are now having stray children as well.

  20. We often stereotype(painting with a broad brush) and it’s so wrong. This 16yr old boy is a menace to society. He was just released from jail, had several run ins with the law eg. break ins, assault and battery etc. His grandmother especially spoils him. Can you imagine this boy confess crimes to you and tell him to stop saying those things? Sad
    Train up a child the way he should grow so when he is old, he will not depart from it(regardless of the music he listens to, the friends he has, a SOLID upbringing will make him unbreakable.
    STOP FINDING EXCUSES FOR THESE SCUMBAGS!!!
